Matthew Matt James was born in North Carolina on December 5 1991. The son of Manny James, along with Patty James of mixed race. The father of Manny James is Nigerian while his mother is caucasian American. In 2010, James graduated of Sanderson High School and furthered to Wake Forest University where he completed a bachelor's in Economics in the year 2015. James made headlines when his appearance on The Bachelorette as a reality television star. The show's creators chose him in 2020 for the role of 25th season bachelor of The Bachelor, becoming the first African American lead. The show premiered 2021. James's looks, height and ability to laugh make him an ideal choice to play the role. The season ended when he selected Rachael Krkconnell for an affair with her. In 2021, he was partnered by the famous dancer Arnold to participate in the 30th season of Dancing with the Stars. James as well as Arnold placed 12th.
